Dr Wei-Jen Huang
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Huang is a clinical psychologist and a faculty member at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Huang is known in China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia for his work on couples’ therapy and relationship education. He also has been providing psychological training and consultation regarding marriage and family issues for China, Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia governments.
In October, 2004, Dr. Huang was the plenary speaker for the United Nation Sponsored International Family Conference in Kuala Lumpur. Since year 2000, Dr. Huang has also been invited six times by China Government Ministry of Civil Affairs to conduct training. He has also been invited multiple times to serve the Chinese general public by providing relationship education through Chinese CCTV and Mass Media. Dr. Huang has published two books: “From Mourning to Dancing: Understanding and Treating Relationship Crises” and “To Love is to Cherish Each Other”. His well cited article “An Asian Perspective on Relationship and Marriage Education” was published in April, 2005 by the Family Process. His recent work, “Journey to Intimacy” relationship skills training curriculum was produced by Focus on the Family and published in December, 2007 by China Light Industry Publisher. It includes: Curriculum DVDs, Leaders and Participants’ Manuals.
Named by students as Northwestern University’s Dr. Love, Dr. Huang also serves as an International Speaker of Focus on the Family, a Board Member of Chinese Family for Christ (CFFC), an Associate Staff of the Ambassadors for Christ (AFC), an Advisor of Formosa Mass Media Center, Adjunct Faculty of Evangelical Formosa Seminary, Advisor of the Family Keepers, World Conference Multicultural Track Leader of American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), Program Director of the Chinese Family 2000 World Conference, Advisor of Tung-Hai University Center for Religious Studies, and Advisor of Shanghai Psychological Association.
