The Majesty of God’s Truth
21 July 2008
Biblical doctrine is the basis of all authentic pastoral care
and spiritual experience. One needs to scale the heights and
explore the truths about God, not so much to know God as an
object, but to allow Him to be the cause of our wonder and awe.
From this personal knowledge of the text of Scripture and the
Author of that text, we can then be enthralled by the greatness
of God’s character, grace, holiness and mercy, and then
live our healed and transformed lives accordingly.
The Mystery of God’s Friendship
22 July 2008
As long as God remains an idea or ideology and we do not allow
Him to relate to us, He remains an “It”, and we
too cannot grow beyond being an “It”. But when we
allow God to speak with us and respond to His loving call, He
becomes a “Thou” and transforms us into “Thous”.
Jesus interacted with individuals to establish redemptive relationships
into which they could enter with repentance and in which they
could grow in love. He longs to do the same today to bring into
our lives His eternity, freedom, love and dignity.
The Miracle of God’s Love
23 July 2008
When we are deeply touched by God’s love, our lives cannot
remain the same. We look at everything and everyone differently.
Life becomes an opportunity to be grateful and loving, an offering
to God. God has poured His love into us so that it can become
the very impulse and motive of all that we do. True ministry
grows out of this self-giving divine love, and if given regular
expression, it will become part of our spiritual DNA, a holy
habit, and a way to adorn, with beauty, the doctrine of God.
